Welcome to our Patron Saint page! As a school community, we look to Saint Jerome as our guide and inspiration. His life beautifully reflects our school motto: Peace, Love, and Service, reminding us that true learning brings inner peace, fills our hearts with love, and prepares us to serve others.
Key Pillars of His Legacy
The Journey of a Scholar:
Born in the year 341 AD, Saint Jerome was a brilliant student who mastered classical literature and multiple languages. He eventually dedicated his massive intellect entirely to God, seeking peace through a quiet life of deep study and monastic devotion.
His Greatest Gift (The Vulgate):
Driven by a profound love for God’s Word, Jerome spent over 30 years in Bethlehem translating the Bible from ancient Hebrew and Greek into Latin. Known as the Vulgate ("the common version"), his translation brought the Scriptures directly into the hands of ordinary people.
Inspiration for Students:
Saint Jerome teaches us that academic excellence requires grit and focus. He was not perfect and possessed a famous sharp temper, but he channeled his intense energy into hard work, proving that curiosity is a gift to be nurtured.
Our School Feast Day:
Saint Jerome passed away on September 30, 420 AD in Bethlehem. Every year on September 30, our school community gathers to celebrate his feast day, honoring his life, his legacy, and his enduring spirit within our classes.
